Terms & privacy

thepixelfight.com sells advertising space on one shared board of 16 × 16 blocks. This page says exactly what that purchase is, what can take it away from you, and what the platform keeps about you — which is very little, because there are no accounts.

What you are buying

A purchase gives you a licence to display your brand’s mark on specific blocks of the board for a limited lifetime. It is not property, not a security, not a token, and not an asset you can sell. The blocks remain part of one board operated by us.

There is no resale market and no payout of any kind. Money paid buys pixels, a lifetime and the exposure that comes with them — nothing else. A block has at most one owner at any moment, and the whole supply is fixed at 256 blocks.

The platform uses no cryptocurrency, no blockchain, no NFTs and no tokens. Any claim to the contrary is not ours.

Pricing and payment

The price of a block is set by one rule: target = current value + $1. Selecting a rectangle prices every block inside it at what that block is worth right now plus the increment, and the sum is what you are quoted.

Your own qualifying earlier investment in the same blocks is credited against the quote, so re-taking territory you already paid for costs the difference rather than the whole target. The credit is finite, applies only to your own domain, and stops qualifying after the window shown on your quote.

All amounts are whole US dollars. The minimum charge is $1. Payment is processed by Stripe; we never see or store your card details. A quote is valid for 60 seconds and a reservation holds the blocks off the market for 5 minutes. If payment has not completed by then the hold lapses and the blocks return to the board at whatever they are worth at that moment.

Lifetime and decay

Every territory has a lifetime decided by what you invested in it. The tiers run from $1 for 7 days up to $50,000 and above for 365 days. Measured exposure adjusts that base by between 0.75× and 1.5×, and the result is rounded down to whole days. No lifetime is shorter than 7 days or longer than 365 days.

When a lifetime ends the territory does not vanish — it decays. Its value falls in a straight line to $0 over 30 days, which makes it progressively cheaper for anyone else to take. Decay is applied continuously and computed by the server; it is not something you can pause, and it runs whether or not anyone is watching the board.

Buying the same blocks again before decay finishes resets the lifetime and stops the decay at the value it had reached.

Losing a block

Ownership is never permanent and is not exclusive of competition. Any other brand may take your blocks at any time by paying the target price for them, including part of a territory: a buyer who clips the corner of your rectangle pays only for the blocks they take, and the rest stays yours.

We do not notify you before this happens, we do not hold blocks for you, and the fact that a rectangle was yours does not give you first refusal on it. Your own credit is what the platform offers instead — it makes re-taking your territory cheaper for you than it is for anyone else.

Where a payment lands late, an older payment can never override newer ownership. The later settlement wins and the earlier one is refunded.

Brand identity

There is no account. A brand is its domain: you enter your website, the platform reads that site once and extracts a name, a mark and a colour from it, and you confirm the preview before paying. The same domain entered again is the same brand, which is what makes a repeat purchase frictionless.

By buying you confirm that you are authorised to advertise that domain and to use the mark the platform extracted from it. We fetch it from your own site; we do not licence it to anyone and we display it only on the board, the brand pages and the featured placements described in these terms. Marks are always shown whole and never cropped; below a legible size a monogram is drawn instead.

Click-throughs from your blocks are locked to the identity domain and its origin, over HTTPS only (https:, bare origin, no path). You cannot point a block at a third-party destination. An identity is re-read from your site periodically, so changing your logo or title there changes it here.

Content standards

You may not use the board for anything illegal, deceptive, hateful, sexually explicit, or aimed at children; for malware, phishing or any attempt to impersonate another brand; or to advertise a domain you do not control. Marks that are not your own are a breach of these terms whatever their source.

We may suspend, reject or remove a brand or a territory that breaches this section, or that we reasonably believe does. Removal for breach is not refunded. We also reserve the right to refuse a purchase before it settles.

Attempting to inflate exposure — automated views, scripted clicks, or any traffic that is not a person looking at the board — voids the affected metrics and may void the territory.

Refunds

A completed purchase is final. There are three exceptions, all of them automatic: a payment that arrives after the blocks were taken by someone else, a payment that settles twice for the same reservation, and a payment we cannot apply because the purchase failed on our side. In each case the money is returned to the card that paid it.

Decay, expiry and being outbid are not refundable events. They are how the board works, they are visible on your brand page before and after purchase, and the lifetime you paid for is stated at checkout.

The arena

The games are free to play and require nothing but a browser. Match results, standings and handles are cosmetic: no game outcome ever changes who owns a block, moves money, or grants credit or lifetime. A room code is not a credential and anyone holding one can watch.

Matches are simulated on the server. We may end a match, close a room or drop a connection that abuses the input limits.

Privacy

There is no account, so there is no profile. We do not ask for an email address, a password or a name, and we have no way to send you marketing. A brand record holds a domain, the name, mark and colour read from that domain, and the purchases made against it — all of which are public on this site by design.

To measure exposure honestly we store a random per-tab identifier in your browser’s sessionStorage. It is created by your browser, is not linked to any person, and disappears when you close the tab. It exists so a single visitor cannot be counted as a hundred, and so a click can be attributed to the view that produced it.

IP addresses are used only for abuse limits and are stored as a salted hash, never in the clear. Exposure counters are aggregated per territory and per day; we do not build a profile of a visitor across sites, and we run no third-party advertising or analytics scripts.

Card payments are processed by Stripe under its own terms and privacy policy. Card numbers never reach our servers. Stripe references we hold are never shown on a public page.

We use no advertising cookies. The functional storage described above, and Cloudflare Turnstile’s bot check on the purchase flow, are the whole of it.

Liability and changes

The service is provided as it is. We do not warrant uninterrupted availability of the board, of the realtime feed, or of any particular level of exposure — impressions depend on how many people visit, which we do not guarantee. Our liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the affected territory.

These terms and the figures in them may change. Configuration such as the increment, the decay duration and the lifetime tiers is operator-adjustable; the values shown on this page are always the ones in force, and the price you were quoted at checkout is the price you were charged.

Questions, a takedown request, or a payment that looks wrong — the support page says how to reach us and what to include.

The rules above are the contract. If what you actually want is how the pricing, the credit and the decay behave in practice, the board explains itself — open How it works beside the canvas, or start a selection and watch the quote change.
